The stages of the Parish Plan Last month the Parish Plan moved into the next stage with the launch of five focus groups. The job of the focus groups is to drill down further into the survey results and develop the specific actions and policies that will help preserve and improve life in the Parish. The focus groups have a range of initial objectives some are topical, some controversial! Health care, crime, schools, youth and traffic issues will all be up for discussion at Focus Group meetings around the village over the next few weeks. The Groups are due to present their findings in the Autumn. The Traffic and Transport focus group has already started collecting information concerning traffic-flow, speeding and parking in the village. This data will provide the basis for their recommendations to the Parish Plan. Importantly it will also provide a baseline to compare the ‘before and after’ effects of any traffic management schemes that might result from the survey. (Information gained during the survey will not be made available in any prosecution of a traffic offence!). The Team will also be working with the Parish Council, the Police and Hertfordshire Highways Partnership looking at the feasibility of a Village Travel Plan.
