Give Aid

More than 125,000 people have perished in the Asian quake disaster as of 1st January 2005, but the threat from disease has put a further five million lives at risk. Britons have so far raised more than £60 million for victims. You too can make a difference by donating money now!

Scene of devastation

This is an aerial view photographed on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 of the town of Meulaboh in Aceh province, Indonesia, which was flattened by tidal waves on Sunday. U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland estimated the number of dead was approaching 150,000. 'The vast majority of those are in Indonesia,' he said Friday, adding that the final toll would probably never be known.
