Have you heard?
Something is going on in Knebworth!
Well, in the answers to the Parish Plan
questionnaires, people were saying things like,
“How can you give us the feeling of
being part of a real, vibrant, village community?”
So there was a meeting in February to discuss:
“What can we do to involve everybody
in a great community event?”
It turns out that
Knebworth is Absolutely Buzzing with
Ideas!!

Well, come on then, tell us what’s going on!
Brian Worthington, who helped to organise the
successful Knebworth Festival in 1992, is very kindly leading a
committee to relaunch this great idea. At the moment, it is still in the
early planning stages, but we are already able to give some indications
of what you can expect.
So, when is it?
It starts on
MIDSUMMER DAY! Saturday, 24th June
with a Pre- Festival Event.
Local Organisations are invited to have stalls—plants,
tombola, cakes, games, exhibitions and more, plus possible Clog/Morris
dancing, hand bell ringers, and other attractions.

would like to know more about running a stall, game or exhibition with
your organisation.
The Main Events will run from
Thursday 29th June – Sunday July 2nd
We plan to include
• Talk about the History of Knebworth
• Opera Pops concert
• Pub Quiz Night
• Picnic in the Park to include young people from the village - to
feature music and other acts, maybe some stalls and side shows, and a
possible barbeque/fireworks
• Evening’s Entertainment in the Village Hall by talented Knebworth
groups
• Walk
• Have A Go Sports Day to highlight the sports available i.e. Tennis,
Bowls, Boules, maybe Laser Clay Shooting. There is a Youth Football
Competition planned at this time
• Art Event - possible history of Knebworth in pictures and memorabilia
• And a few more surprises too!
This is YOUR VILLAGE EVENT! So do keep the dates
free and we will give you more information as it becomes available.
