Harvest Festival Celebration:
This Sunday September 28 is Harvest Festival at St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s. If you’re planning to come to St. Martin’s, the Festival starts with a lie-in. The Service starts an hour later – at 11am. It’s café-style, and will be followed by a Bring and Share lunch. All more than welcome.

Farmers and Craft Market:
This week’s local shopping opportunity takes place along the road in Woolmer Green Village Hall, off Bridge Lane. The Farmers’ and Craft Market runs every fourth Sunday of the month from 9am – 1pm.

You have until October 4 to respond to Hertfordshire County Council’s consultation on the financial support it gives to bus services. HCC have to cut spending across the board and they are proposing to withdraw support to buses which run after 6.30pm and buses which run on a Sunday. You can complete the survey online at www.hertsdirect.org/busconsult. For a paper copy call 0300 1234 or email hertsdirct@hertfordshire.gov.uk.

Let’s get quizzical:

Teams of eight, or they will find you one to join. Tickets are £10 (£9 to KTA members), to include a Fish’n’Chips supper (veggie option or chicken also available). Solar Farm Proposal for Knebworth:
A consultation meeting in the Village Hall on Solstice Renewables’ proposal for a 40 acre Solar Panel array in Swangleys Lane, attracted 50 members of the public. The proposal has aroused strong feelings, particularly amongst those living near the site. The Parish Council is keen to hear our views. Contact Parish Council Clark, Claire Graham Email, 01438 813795. A planning application, ref 14/02153/1, has been lodged with North Herts. District Council and is open for comments until September 18.

Cakes Galore:

On Your Bikes:
This Saturday, September 13, is also the day of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Historic Churches Trust sponsored Bike’n’hike, so those church funds may benefit from hungry bikers and hikers.
