From Jo Simson - 28th April

Witness: To a crime committed over 2,000 years ago, but for the eternal benefit of all. The Knebworth Family of Churches Walk of Witness carrying the cross around the village on Good Friday was joined by over 60 people of all ages and fitness levels. This year white crosses were also placed outside St. Martin's and Trinity Church for people to write their names on in black marker pen if the cross symbolises something to them. Those white crosses were festooned with ribbons on Easter Day. The ICON (Investigating Christianity Over Nosh) Easter Journey exhibition continues throughout this week in St. Martin's Church in the centre of the village. The Palm Sunday procession, Last Supper, Garden of Gethsemane, crucifixion and resurrection are all depicted together with the relevant Bible passages and thoughts from ICON members. Particularly striking are the thoughts of Jesus written on the donkey's hoofprint on the floor of the church - in stark contrast to the thoughts shown in the thought bubbles of the crowd at the triumphal procession.

Royal Wedding Celebrations: Stevenage Floral Society will be filling Knebworth House with flowers this week-end from tomorrow, Friday April 29 to Monday May 2. Admission to House, Park, Gardens and Events is £10.50, and the House is open from 12noon - 5pm.
