Festival Week Programme
Saturday
June 19th
  • Village Fete 10am to 3pm on St Martin’s Church Green - A chance to find out about the organisations in the village. Stalls, Plants, Tombola, Refreshments, BBQ, Games, Entertainment, Jazz Band, Balloon Modelling, Bouncy Castle and many more. “Best Hat” theme for stall holders. Create something fun and fabulous! A prize for the best one.
  • Knebworth Bowls Club open 10:00am until 3pm for anybody who would like to come along and Have-a-Go. Note: only soft, flat shoes to be worn. Any sort of heel is unacceptable, trainers are OK. All other equipment will be available and people will be on hand to advise and instruct.
  • Comedy Night 8pm in Knebworth Village Hall – biting satire, cheeky humour and audience interaction! In aid of Knebworth Football Club (Seniors).
    Tickets £12.50 Over 18’s Only - Licensed Bar
Sunday
June 20th
  • Festival Walk Starts at Knebworth Village Hall car park at 11.30am Countryside walk around the village of about 4 miles, suitable for all ages and well behaved dogs.
  • Mobile Treasure Hunt (win £100) Station Pub, starting at 3pm with a BBQ for all participants. A day of fun to be enjoyed by all the family. You will need a car, a Sat Nav and a team of enthusiastic helpers. Ask in the Station Pub for details. Entry fee £10.00
Tuesday
June 22nd
  • Flower Arranging Demonstration by Joyce Furssedonn, sponsored by Knebworth Twinning Association, at 3pm in Knebworth Village Hall  Tickets £6.00 KTA members £5.00 including a cup of tea and homemade cake. Raffle for flower arrangements.
  • Concert featuring Welwyn Garden City Male Voice Choir: popular songs alongside more traditional pieces.  Also featuring the music from St Martin’s excellent organist, Andrew Lewis at  8.00pm in St Martin’s Church, Knebworth.  Tickets £6.00 Proceeds to the churches of St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s.
Wednesday
June 23rd
  • A Very British Revolution  A Lecture on The Expenses Scandal, the Election and the Future of Politics by Martin Bell, former Independent MP and War Correspondent. Sponsored by Stevenage and Knebworth Arts Group 8pm in the Village Hall, Knebworth. Tickets £6.00 including light refreshments and book stall.
  • Fashion show in aid of Knebworth Pre-School at 7.30pm for 8pm in Knebworth Junior School.
    Tickets £3.50 (includes glass of wine) “clothes manufactured by the factories that make for the leading High Street stores sold at greatly reduced prices”.
Thursday
June 24th
  • Film Preview - Love/Loss Come and see a preview of the film Love/Loss the eagerly anticipated romantic British movie filmed in and around Knebworth and starring Virginia McKenna and Keith Michell, along with hundreds of local extras. www.love-loss.com The director Guy Daniels will do a Questions & Answer session at the end. 8pm in the Knebworth Village Hall - Tickets £7.00 including a glass sparkling wine and nibbles.

  • Movies and Musicals A Celebration of Songs from the Silver Screen and the West End with Jayne O'Mahony, John Langley and the Knebworth Community Chorus
    7.30pm in St Martin’s Church - Tickets £10.00
Saturday
June 26th
  • Gala Fun Day  A fun afternoon out and plenty to do for the whole family, incredible inflatables for all ages, ride on steam traction, panning for gold, penalty shoot-out, golf challenge, face painting, sponge bob, traditional fun stalls, BBQ, beer tent, PIMMS, refreshments and lots, lots more….. from 12noon until 4pm at Knebworth Primary & Nursery School.  Entrance 50p for adults, children and concessions free.
  • Clifftop Rock - our ever popular Tribute Evening with Guest Vocalist Ian Geast, Stephen Swann and St Martin’s Shadows In aid of St Martin’s Church.  Doors open 7.30pm.  Music from 8pm to 11pm in Knebworth Village Hall. Ticket £12.50 includes 2 Course Supper. Cash Bar and Raffle
Sunday
June 27th
  • Songs of Praise in St Martin’s Church at 5.30pm.  Knebworth Family of Churches invite you to a service of hymns and readings giving praise and thanksgiving for our local community and all we have shared through the Knebworth Festival, including an opportunity to reflect on life in our village with slides and incidental music.   Gather on the green for a drink and a chat from 5pm before the service at 5.30pm.
  • Knebworth House 7pm Reception on the Terrace and a wander round the Gardens followed by Best Loved Poems read by Colin Greenslade at 8pm.
    Ticket £20.00
    including a glass of sparkling wine and refreshments.  Colin delights audiences every year with his reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Cellist, Catherine Wilmers, will provide musical interludes to suit the themes of the poetry.
