Knebworth
This term has been a busy one for all the Knebworth
Guiding units…..
Rainbows said goodbye to their two leaders, Suzanne
Hodges and Debbie Blakey in April and we are delighted to welcome Caz
Higgins and Lindsay Chapman as the new leadership team. The Rainbows
have been doing crafts and games, walking in the woods and making
special gifts for Fathers Day. They also celebrated 21 years of Rainbow
Guides with a Dolls Birthday Party.
1st Knebworth Brownie leaders Denise Carpenter and
Debra Thomas are standing down at the end of this term after more than
25 years service between them. Following a local appeal we have been
very fortunate to find a warranted Guider, who lives in the village, to
take over the running of the unit from September. The Brownies have been
working towards their Wildlife Explorer and Disability Awareness badges
and are looking forward to bell-boating at Fairlands Valley later this
month.
The highlight of the term for 23 girls from 2nd
Knebworth Brownies was a woodland theme Pack Holiday at Wymondley Wood
near Letchworth.
1st Knebworth Guides have also had cause to celebrate
as Assistant Guider Penny Calver has achieved her Queens Guide Award and
Pam Hogg has completed her Guiders warrant. The unit has just returned
from a 2 night camp at Harmer Green Woods where 20 girls had fun
learning traditional camping and outdoor cooking skills and enjoyed camp
fire singing and wide games – yes it all still goes on!
Special thanks to all four retiring leaders for your
loyal service to Guiding in Knebworth.
