Since my April report only Planning & Environment and
Recreations Grounds Committees have met. This does not mean that the rest of
the Council has been inactive. Some current projects are mentioned within
the leaflet which invites all residents to our Annual Parish Meeting. So I
will not waste space on them here.
That leaflet, together with the newly published Parish
Plan, should have fallen through your letterbox by now. If you or a friend
have not received these please contact Linda Brookes on 812168.
Soccer successes
The main news regarding the Recreation Ground is that we will be erecting
two new sets of goalposts before September in order to comply with current
safety regulations. Staying with the soccer theme, congratulations to
Stevenage Borough FC for reaching the FA Carlsberg Trophy final on May 12th.
This is the new Wembley`s first cup final.
A sight to behold
It was lovely to see the daffodils again this year and I think the main
Recreation Ground is looking particularly good at the moment. Many thanks to
our groundsman for that. Regular walkers will be pleased to hear that
Christopher is again picking up litter on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Lets
hope that keeps the place tidy for weekend users.
Double protection
A project which has required long term financial planning has at last
reached its climax. Work on double glazing the main hall and toilets
commenced on 12th April. By the time you read this the work should have been
completed. Another job ticked off the list !! |
