Farewell
Many thanks to John Bland who has diligently
written the Parish Council page for a very long time. John has now retired
from the Parish Council and this page will be shared around among the
current new Council. We wish John every happiness in retirement.
Annual Parish Meeting roundup
Just over 70 members of the parish attended the Annual Parish Meeting on May
3rd. Reports from the Chairman of the Council and the chairmen of the four
working committees of the Council were followed by an exchange of views on a
number of topics.
Questions and comments included such topics as the
surgery, parking, speeding and dog fouling. The NHDC Dog Wardens (01462
474000) will deal with dog fouling but they can only do this effectively if
you supply them with names and addresses of the offenders. The Police are
looking into speeding issues in Stockens Green. It is hoped that new traffic
calming measures will slow down traffic coming into Knebworth from the North
on B197. A full account will be available in the minutes which will
eventually be on view in the Library.

IF YOU HAVE CONCERNS regarding problems in Knebworth
please contact the Clerk, Claire Graham at 9 Oakfields Road (01438 813795)
or John Bantick on 01438 812761. Please note that these phone numbers are at
home and not in a remote office. Even if the answer phone is switched on the
telephone still rings. Neither of us wishes to be woken up by a phone
ringing in the middle of the night for a non emergency matter.
Parish Representations
Time is to be allocated at the start of Parish Council meetings to enable
members of the Parish to make representations regarding Parish matters. You
will be able to speak for up to 3 minutes. There will usually be no
discussion unless the Chairman wishes to clarify a point. It is unlikely
that you will get a response on the spot but we will investigate and will
get back to you in due course. Times and dates of Parish Council meetings
are on the Parish Council Notice Boards. |
