KATS Present "Noises Off" by Michael Frayn
Knebworth Village Hall
Thursday 20th - Saturday 22nd November 19:30 (7.30pm) (Note early start time!)

KATS are giving their audiences a classic comic treat to chase the November blues away.
Have you ever been intrigued by what really goes on behind the scenes while the actors are on stage? Michael Frayn was inspired enough by real life theatrical shenanigans to write this glorious farce. It’s a complicated dance of a piece, starting with a minuet of haplessness and gathering pace into a quickstep of catastrophes.
The play is about a touring rep company and we first meet the cast of ‘Nothing On’ during their final rehearsal, as they fluff and stutter their way through the preposterous and implausible sardine-strewn Brian-Rix like farce, and watch as the dynamics of the group becoming increasingly strained over the following weeks.  Alcoholism, jealousy, pomposity and a love triangle are just some of the human frailties playing themselves out.
As Lloyd Dallas the director wearily says, “That’s farce, that’s theatre, that’s life”.

Thought of becoming a twin?
Knebworth Twinning Association is on the hunt for new members. The association organises visits to and from our French twin, Châtelaillon Plage in the Charente Maritime region. Social events include Boules practice at the Station Pub on Monday evenings and a Quiz night in the Village Hall in October. Membership costs £10 per family. Contact Ann Judge on Click Here if you’d like to join/know more.

Knebworth Twinning Association - Boules Practice and Social:
Every Monday evening until further notice. Join Carole and David Woodman at the Station Pub between 18:00 and 19:30 for Boules practice, a chat and some fun. The KTA has a trophy to defend so need all the help they can get.

Free de-icing salt:
It seems a bit superfluous at the moment, but who knows what weather winter will bring? Free de-icing salt will be issued by the Parish Council to Knebworth residents from 9.30 – 10.10am next Saturday November 8.

Remembrance Day Evensong:
November 9 is a very special Remembrance Day, marking the centenary of the Great War from 1914-18. Every family in Britain was touched by the impact of the war and would have known someone killed or injured. A special commemorative service will be held in St. Mary’s, the Parish Church in Knebworth Park at 4pm. The form and words from the Book of Common Prayer would have been familiar to all. Eden Consort will be singing music inspired by the First World War.

Liz Kirby and her friend started running training in January 2011 in preparation for a 10k charity run. Mow they are fitter than ever and totally hooked on the buzz they get from running; so much so that they decided to look for a local running club. Then it occurred to them, why drive to a running club when there are lots of beautiful running routes around Knebworth?

If you are interested in helping create or join a Knebworth runners' network, please contact Liz at lizkirby63@gmail.com. It doesn't matter what your motivation is - competition, getting fitter or simply becoming better acquainted with your fellow villagers.

A multi- activity group for over 65’s is restarting in Knebworth and is Herts Sports Partnershipproviding local residents with the chance to try gentle and seated exercises, table tennis, badminton, new age bowls, indoor curling and even some local health walks.
